Jesus Tent

Statement of Faith

The Bible is the Inspired Word of God. Practical, Alive and Useful Today

The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is God breathed. Useful for teaching, reproof, for correction,  and for training in righteousness so that man will be complete and equipped for good work.  (2 Tim. 3:15-17; 1 Pet. 1:23-25; Heb. 4:12)

The God of all gods

The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent, self-revealed “I AM.” He is the God of all gods.  He is Father, Jesus Christ (Son) and Holy Spirit. (Duet. 10:17 Deut. 6:4; Mark 12:29; Isa. 43:10, 11; Matt. 28:19).

Man’s Fall and Redemption

Man was created good and upright, for God said, “Let us make man in our image and after our likeness.” God gave man free will and through voluntary transgression, fell, and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God (Gen. 1:26-31; Gen. 3:17; Rom. 5:12-21).

Salvation / Being Saved

Salvation is deliverance of the soul from sin and its consequences. Through the Grace of God and by faith we receive the gift of Salvation. Salvation is found in no other name. The multiple examples in Acts showing the same pattern. Belief, Repentance followed by water Baptism. (Ephesians 2 :8-9)

Baptism in Water

Baptism by burial with Christ should be observed (as commanded in the Scriptures) by all that have repented of their sins and in their hearts have believed in Christ as their Lord and Savior. (Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4).

When should we be Baptized?

As soon as we have believed in Jesus Christ as our Savior. Acts 8:12

Each believer is an integral part of the church

The body of believers is made up of many parts. Each one having their own unique but vital function as gifted by God. That no part of the body can look at any other part or a weaker part with anything other than honor. They depend on each other. There will be no special treatment regarding any individual. All are to be treated with special honor. (Romans 12, Corinthians 12:12-27)

Marriage

God created marriage. It is a covenant made between a man and a woman that makes them one (Gen 2: 22,24; Matt 19: 5-6)

The Lord’s Supper (Communion)

The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements, bread and fruit of the vine, is the symbol expressing our sharing in a memorial to His suffering and death, and a prophecy of His second coming, and is enjoined to all believers “until He comes” (John 6:48,51,53-57; Luke 22:19,20; 1 Cor. 11:11-32).  Communion will be made available at most gatherings and every Sunday worship.

Emphasis on Love

We recognize that we can speak in tongues of men or of Angels, we can have the gifts of prophecy, fathom all mysteries and have all the knowledge of the greatest biblical scholar and have faith that can move mountains but if you don’t have Love you are a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. You are nothing. You can give all you have to the poor, you can give up your body to hardship. Without Love you gain nothing. We will strive to live by ! Corinthians 13:4-13.

We Plant & Water Gods gives the Growth

We will plant the seed of the word and water as the Lord provides, recognizing those rolls and understanding that only God provides the growth 1 Corinthians 3:6-9

The First shall be Last

We recognize that we are to be servants to all. That we will take our humble place whether in conversation, relationships or in what we think we know.

Matthew; 20:25-28, Luke 13:30, Matthew 19:28-30
